It has been said that legends are created not birthed; but DJ Throdown has defiled this statement. Through his passion to pursue the ultimate plateau as New York’s best kept secret, it almost seems as though he was created to do what he does best.
Though his ultimate roots began in the Bronx, he has branched off into different cities, states and a large arena of events and social gatherings. As author Marsha Sinetar quoted, “Life’s up and downs provide windows of opportunity to determine your values and goals…Think of using all obstacles as stepping stones to build the life you want”; indeed DJ Throdown has encompassed this. He has taken every opportunity to step into an element of excellence due to his obstacles now turned into greater opportunities.
With 16yrs of experience, his style of dee-jaying has no limits. Whether spinning Hip hop, R&B, old school, reggae or even club music, without a doubt, he will always guarantee to “Keep the crowd moving”. His collaboration and genius ability to mix and intertwine music of different genres; allows crowds of vast ages to relate and relax to the selections that he, brilliantly collages. DJ Throdown has been compared to the likes of Funkmaster Flex, and Ron G just to name a few. He has not only graced the tri-state area, he also expanded his talent all the way to Philly. He has played in numerous venues in NYC such as The PALLADIUM, LUCY LOUNGE, GROOVEJETT, M BAR, FASHION 40 LOUNGE, The KATWALK, BAR 13, NATIONS BAR AND LOUNGE, and the legendary NELLS. He has also played at the Club Millennium (currently closed), in Newark, NJ. Alongside his many skillful appearances, DJ Throdown has worked as a Co-hosted on radiomixshow at 99thejoynt .com Sundays from 11-2pm (2009); hosted his own mixshow at bouncefm.com, Saturdays 4-6pm “The- pre-club mixout” (2010); worked with Jones New York Style Guy and Ann Taylor stores (2010); twice as a special guest DJ for the Michaelaradio show (2010,2011); DJ for The Ted Smooth old school summer jam (2011).
DJ Throdown is not only a regular at parties, radio shows, lounges, etc.; but he has proven his great talent to the hospital organizations and kids ventured organizations alike. He has been the official DJ for “The Strut Ya Stuff” Talent Show for kids (2009,2010,2011), Scratch Academy for Fashion Week at Lord and Taylors For Lloyd Boston, DJ for The Academy of Mount St. Ursula High School for Girls-Valentine’s Day Dance (2012) and for St. Luke’s Hospital Christmas Party (2009,2010,2011), to name a few.
When Throdown is not in the clubs moving the crowd, or mixing it up, he is involved in listening parties for BadBoy, Universal and Sotti Records. He is also actively involved in promotional and production events for TL5GROUP and TGroove productions. DJ Throdown is also the Ceo of “Party over Enterpises” which he founded in 2002. He’s always producing the hottest mix CD’s from old school to new school that has circulated throughout the Tri-state area.
Throdown is always on the look-out for fresh new artists to advance their career; whether by mixed CD circulation or just grinding the pavement with promoting hot new acts.
